Former Conexant CEO tapped to lead Lantiq

SAN FRANCISCO—German broadband and networking chip vendor Lantiq Friday (May 25) appointed Dan Artusi to the position of CEO. Artusi is a former CEO of both Silicon Laboratories Inc. and Conexant Systems Inc. and has been a member of Lantiq's board of directors since 2009.

Artusi replaces Christian Wolff as Lantiq CEO. Wolff will remain a member of Lantiq's board of directors, the company said. Wolff served as CEO of Lantiq since the company spun out of Infineon Technologies AG in 2009.

“With Lantiq’s carve-out from Infineon Technologies now complete, the company has entered a new, exciting period of its development,” Artusi said through a statement. “I’m thrilled to work with a great management team and a truly committed group of employees to capitalize on our unique breadth of technologies and deep customer relationships to grow the business.”

Lantiq (Neubiberg, Germany) said Artusi will be responsible for working with the company's senior management team to build on its success in broadband access and pursue exciting growth opportunities in the home networking arena.

Lantiq was formed in 2009, when private equity investor Golden Gate Capital purchased Infineon's wireline communications division.

Artusi has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and communications industries. Prior to serving as CEO of both Silicon Labs and Conexant, Artusi spent more than 20 years in various senior management positions at Motorola Semiconductor. He currently serves on the board of Conextant, Scintera Networks and Energy Micro AS and until recently was on the board of Atheros Communications Inc. (recently acquired by Qualcomm Inc.).
