Former Freescale CEO takes Dialog director's seat


LONDON – Mixed-signal, power and RF chip company Dialog Semiconductor plc (Kirchheim-unter-Teck, Germany) has appointed Richard Beyer and Michael Cannon as non-executive directors with immediate effect.

Beyer was chairman and CEO of Freescale Semiconductor from 2008 to 2012. Prior to this, he held successive positions as CEO and director of Intersil Corp., Elantec Semiconductor and FVC.com. In his earlier career Beyer held senior positions at VLSI Technology Inc. and National Semiconductor Corp. and served as an officer in the US Marine Corps. Beyer currently serves on the boards of directors of Freescale and Micron Technology Inc.

Cannon has held several C-level positions including: president of global operations for Dell Inc., CEO of Solectron Corp. and CEO of Maxtor Corp. Prior to this he held senior management positions at IBM and Control Data Corp. Cannon currently serves on the boards of directors of Adobe Systems, Seagate Technology and Lam Research.
