Lockheed Martin selects LynxOS for U.K. AWACS

MANHASSET, NY -- Real-time response using LynuxOS earned another notch in military-critical operations when LynuxWorks was recently chosen for the British Royal Air Force AWACS.

Military contractor Lockheed Martin has selected the LynxOS real-time operating system and the Luminosity integrated development environment for U.K.’s Airborne Warning and Control System.

The AWACS aircraft provide an airborne early warning capability by tracking aircraft at extended ranges and are central to airborne command and control for relaying vital information to commanders on the ground.
