The IWC Pilot's Watch - Double Chronograph Edition - Top Gun

The IWC Pilot's watch double chronograph Edition TOP GUN was introduced in 2007. As hinted by the name, it was inspired by the TOP GUN pilots of US Navy.

The black case (46mm at diameter) is crafted from high-tech ceramic while the operating elements, including the crown, push-buttons and back cover, are made of matte grey titanium. The combination of ceramic and titanium on case construction has become one distinctive features of all TOP GUN models. The case flank and the case back bear the TOP GUN logo of the American elite pilots. Without doubts, this is an impressive pilot's watch with a strong touch of masculinity.

This IWC watch provides functions in response to its identity as a specialist in mechanical chronometer. The split-seconds function allows the accurate measurement of stop times and any intermediate times within a given minute. The two chronograph hands catch eyes with their lovely red counterweights in shape of a fighter aircraft. This red hue, which refreshed the black dial, is also applied in the small red hands on seconds subdial at 9. Chronograph 30 minutes and 12 hours subdials are placed at 12 and 6 respectively. The day of week and the date display is located at 3.

The Calibre 79230 is the power behind the above functions. IWC watch managed to provide best protection to the movement by an inner case made of soft iron. The use of sapphire crystal on both sides further secures the movement as it can withstand the sudden air pressure drop.

Though looks quite solid and large, this IWC Pilot's watch wears light and comfortable on the wrist thanks to the use of modern materials and black nylon strap.
