Watches now come amongst those items that people like to spend a lot on.

Great watch manufacturers and designers like Rolex, Cartier, Giorgio Armani, Dior, Chanel, etc have launched their collections of such impressive watches that it has placed the watch high amongst any other accessories. Watches now are made of gold, silver, and platinum and are embellished with gemstones like ruby and diamonds. How can they, when decorated with such expensive material, be only worn as a timepiece?

Watches symbolize status. People wear them to display their financial statements to the world. You will be swept off your feet when you know how much these designer wear watches can cost. Many people do not even earn enough that some spend of this fashion piece. Chopard launched a watch worth 25 million dollars.

This so-called timepiece is embellished with three heart shaped diamonds, in pink, blue and white colour along with 163 carats of small diamonds. Overall, the watch has 201 carat diamonds on it. Can you believe or actually accept the statement that this is merely to watch time? Similarly, there have been launches like Patek Philippe's 11 million dollars worth pocket watch, which definitely tells you that some of us wear watches to serve the purpose of more than just a timepiece.
